Dear Parents and students,

As we are entering yet another successful academic year, I welcome you all to the most renowned portal of education. JSS Public School, Ooty.

My teachers, students and I are indeed honoured to be a part of such an established institution.

JSS Public School, Ooty is a part of the JSS Mahavidyapeetha, Mysore which is the mother of 350 institutions across the globe.

A home away from home, JSS Public School, Ooty,with a successful journey of 29 years and continuing to progress, is a Day cum Residential school, that focuses on a purpose as expansive and yet as specific as improving the quality of life through human development.

‘ Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all, ‘ rightly said, Aristotle. My teaching fraternity and I focus on the true meaning of education and thereby bring out the best in our students. We believe in enriching the lives of our students by providing them with physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual guidance and support.

Within every seed lies a hidden fruit, which becomes visible through nourishment. Likewise, through nurture and care, we mould our buds to well-groomed young adults, who are pillars of society.

We at JSS thoroughly understand the significance of pastoral care and hence we provide an amiable environment for all our students who reside in the hostel.

The world we live in has traversed beyond anyone’s expectations and beliefs. We belong to an era where technology has surpassed mankind, thereby posing threats to a sociable environment that once existed. Therefore, the need of the hour is to revive and value human relations. Value-based education is a must across any curriculum. Moral values need to be emphasized and inculcated amongst students so that they do not forget the righteousness and courtesy of life.

Remember, the greatest disaster of 2020 has been faced by millions of people across the globe with strength and perseverance. This is a rightful lesson to all of us that has proven humanity never fails.

As educators, it is a challenge and our duty as reformers to bring about a change in the outlook of life within young minds. One can truly experience this change here at JSS.
