Teacher's Day Celebration

Date: 2nd September, 2024

On September 2nd, 2024, our school was abuzz with excitement as we celebrated the most revered profession: teaching. The eagerly anticipated Teacher’s Day celebration was a vibrant affair, organized by the talented students of Class 12.The event kicked off with a thunderous ovation as our beloved teachers were escorted into the auditorium. The Principal Ms Anitha Ramesh and the senior staff members then lit the ceremonial lamp, marking the auspicious beginning of festivities.The stage was set ablaze with mesmerizing dance performances by students from various classes. The rhythmic beats and graceful movements captivated the audience, creating a joyous atmosphere.The teachers were treated to a series of fun-filled games and dances, that were designed to lighten the mood. Laughter and cheers filled the air as they participated enthusiastically.As a token of appreciation for their tireless efforts, all teachers, matrons, and office staff members were presented with thoughtful and meaningful gifts. The heartfelt gestures from the students touched the hearts of their mentors, reminding them of the positive impact they have made.The Teacher’s Day celebration was a day of fun, entertainment, and gratitude.

A Memorable Andaman Adventure

Date: 6th – 11th September, 2024

A five-day excursion to the Andaman Islands was organized for students from classes 8 to 12 from September 6th to 11th, 2024. Led by Mr. Suresh Babu, the tour was attended by 114 students and 12 staff members.

The trip was a success, thanks to the active participation and enthusiasm of both students and teachers. On September 7th, a visit to the Cellular Jail provided a poignant glimpse into India’s freedom struggle. The students were deeply moved by the stories of torture endured by the country’s freedom fighters.
In the evening, Corbelyn Cove beach offered a much-needed respite with thrilling jet-ski rides and boat excursions. The students also enjoyed playing on the shore.
The following day, a challenging trek to Munda Pahad beach was rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views. A visit to Flag Point in Port Blair later that evening shed light on the legacy of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
On September 9th, the students reached Havelock Island on a cruise. The afternoon was spent basking in the sun and swimming at the pristine beaches of Kalapathar and Radha Nagar. A little shopping added to the enjoyment.
September 10th was a day filled with adventure. Students participated in various water sports activities like snorkelling, banana boat rides, scuba diving, sea walking, and paragliding at Elephant Beach. The boat ride itself was an exhilarating experience as the waves rocked the vessel.
In the evening, the group returned to Port Blair and witnessed the awe-inspiring laser light and sound show at the Cellular Jail. The students and teachers returned to school on September 12th, carrying with them unforgettable memories and a newfound appreciation for India’s history and natural beauty.

One day Trip to LKG-I - TEA PARK II-IV –MUDUMALAI FOREST

BRIEF REPORT ON THE EVENT:
The purpose of the field trip is to observe, non-experimental research or to provide students with experiences outside with everyday activities, such as going on a picnic with teachers and their classmates.

Going on a field trip enhances their critical thinking skills and gives students a chance to think about a topic or theme from a different perspective. Several children do not get to experience the typical field trip location with their families. A school trip gives students the chance to experience new venues.

One day Trip to Black Thunder

Date: 10th September, 2024

Black Thunder is a water theme park in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu that’s a great place for a one-day trip. It offers a variety of activities, including water rides, dry rides, boating, and mud karting. One Day Ooty to Coimbatore to Black Thunder Water Theme Park is a fascinating trip that makes for a memorable vacation.

Inter-School Athletic Meet

Date: 3rd – 6th September, 2024

The Inter School Athletic Meet was held from 03-09-2024 to 06-09-2024 in Good Shepherd School, Ooty. Nearly 33 schools took part and our school positioned 14th amongst them.
The battle was tough and the day was not ours. The team was appreciated for their performance by the Principal

Founder’s Day Celebration

Date: 14th September, 2024

JSS Public School, Ooty, commemorated its Founder’s Day on Saturday, September 14, 2024. The event was a grand celebration.
The day commenced with a soulful rendition of pooja and bhajan. Subsequently, the school Head Girl Kavya Ramesh, delivered a warm welcome address, setting the tone for the festivities. The esteemed Chief Guest, Prof. Chandrashekaraiah
was then introduced to the gathering, followed by an enchanting invocation dance.

A heartfelt tribute to the school’s founder was presented by the Principal, Mrs Anitha Ramesh. The Chief Guest addressed the audience, inspiring students and teachers alike with their words of wisdom and encouragement. He also spoke extensively of the life and services of His Holiness Shivarathri Dr Sri Rajendra Mahaswamiji.

One of the highlights of the day was the release of the school magazine, “Gyanjyoti,” which is inclusive of the students’ literary and creative talents. Mrs. Banu, a support staff member, was felicitated on her retirement for her twenty two year dedicated service and contributions to the school as an Ayah.

After a brief tea break, the Chief Guest inaugurated a captivating art and science exhibition. The exhibition showcased the students’ innovative projects and artistic creations, reflecting their creativity and intellectual prowess.

The Inter-School Dance Competition was another major attraction of the event. Participants from various schools showcased their contemporary dance skills, captivating the audience with their energy and talent.

The day concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, honouring the winners of the Inter- School Art and Dance competition. Gratitude was extended to all those who contributed to the success of the Founder’s Day celebration

Overall, the Founder’s Day at JSS Public School, Ooty, was a memorable occasion that celebrated the school’s legacy, achievements, and the bright future of its students.

Under 14 Boys Badminton

Date: 11th September, 2024

Our school Boys participated in the Inter School Badminton Tournament for the year 2024. Under 14 boys took part in both singles and doubles held in The Lawrence School Lovedale. The battle was tough and the day was not ours. The team was appreciated for their performance by the Principal

Inter-House Rangoli & Flower Arrangement

Date: 13th September, 2024

On September 13, 2024, a vibrant Inter-House Rangoli and Flower Arrangement Competition was held at JSS Public School, Ooty for students in grades 8-12. The theme for the Rangoli Competition was “Say No to Drugs,” and participants showcased their creativity and artistic skills through their colourful and impactful designs.
Ten students from each House participated in the Rangoli Competition and fou students from each House in the flower arrangement Competition.
The rangoli competition was fierce, with each team demonstrating their unique interpretation of the theme. After careful deliberation, the judges announced the winners:

* First Place: Agni House
* Second Place: Jala House
* Third Place: Vayu House
* Fourth Place: Prithvi House

The results of the flower arrangement are as follows:

The winning teams were commended for their exceptional talent and dedication. All participants were praised for their efforts and contributions to the successful event.

The dance competition was held on 20th September 2024.
*The importance of dance in education is significant. It offers many benefits, such as improved brain function, increased confidence and comprehensive growth in academic, emotions, social skills and physical health.
*The students enthralled the audience with their creative outlet and creative skills while dancing. It was a splendid opportunity for them to gain confidence through stage exposure. Everyone was delighted witnessing the competition

Ganapathy Homam & Procession

Date: 19th September, 2024

On 19-09-2024 under the guidance of the esteemed Principal, a sacred Ganapathy Homam was conducted to invoke divine blessings before the immersion of the Lord Ganesha idol, marking the conclusion of Ganesh Chathurthi festivities. The entire school community witnessed this auspicious ritual.
Following the homam, the spirit of visarjan came alive as the staff and students joined in a vibrant procession, led by the rhythmic beats of drums. The atmosphere was filled with devotion and a sense of spiritual connection. It was evident that Lord Ganesha’s blessings were upon all those gathered.”
